Welcome to Kindergarden

"When I was 5, I was the kid who"
had her own
unsecret admirer.
Always he'd insist
to sit next to me
in snack or crafts
and stand by me in line.
He wanted to hold my hand
and be more than a friend
but all I really wanted
was to punch him.

The Sound of Trees Singing

The winter wind
whistles through
the frozen forest
frolicking among
the icy branches-
each twig
another note
in the song,
another key on
the xylophone;
the tenors, basses,
altos, sopranos
create a melody
and harmony
keeping time with
each winter wind.

Haiku

Winter wonders
Pale white snowflakes
Clusters of hope and longing
Land on open hands

Ranges of Mountains
Towering above
Sit spirals of the Earth
Reaching for the sky

Fly by Night
Soft feathers beating
Against clouded nighttime skies
Drifting out of sight

Colorful Christmas

Outside the
frosty window,
the ground is
frozen and
green. Some
birds can be heard
in the distance, some
birds can be seen in the sky.
Lights can be seen
dotting the streets,
hanging from
rooftops and houses.
From bushes and trees.
From porches and
anything else that will
hold the brightly colored lights.
Glowing trees can be
seen from windows,
decorated with
caring hands.
Under these trees,
unseen to onlookers,
are brightly wrapped objects,
anxiously waiting to be
freed from
their constraints.
